DIAMETER AND THICKNESS
ASKO Hunter saw blades are manufactured in diameters from about 16" to 100" (400mm to 2500mm). With respect to the saw blade thickness, we recommend, as a rule, that the ratio of diameter to thickness be no more than 172. The lower this ratio, the greater the saw blade stability. This is of greatest importance in friction sawing, where the cutting forces, particularly the feed forces, are higher, and blades that are too thin will tend to deflect.
